Why is the State Pension so low?!

Don't let anyone tell you that when you retire you won't need as much money because it isn't true!

So why is the State Pension so low? The most anyone can expect from the basic State Pension per week per person is £95.25 depending on the National Insurance contributions each person makes during their working life.

The full basic State Pension for a married woman using her husbands National Insurance record is £57.05 per week.

This means that a married couple could get separate basic State Pension payments totalling £152.30 per week.

If they qualify for a full basic State Pension, they could get separate basic State Pension payments totalling £190.50 per week-; not allot is it? after a lifetime of working and paying your taxes, bringing up a family, giving your children a good education so that they, in their turn, pay their taxes to the government.

Quote: Direct gov:
'In all cases, your individual circumstances may affect the amount you get.
A State Pension forecast will tell you the current value of your State Pension and the amount you may get at State Pension age'.

So how am I going to afford to treat the grandchildren when I want to? They say you have to keep busy to stay young but how am I going to afford the hobbies I now have the time for like painting, flower arranging and golf?

So what's the answer? You could get a part-time job but not everybody wants to employ people who are over 60yrs. Part-time work is like gold-dust if you want to work locally so as not to incur petrol costs.

The only other alternative is to work from home. There are allot of opportunities out there but how do you know they are nor scams? Well you don't most of the time but if you check all the information out and select companies that have been running a few yrs and have a proper telephone number-not just a mobile number you should be o.k. Speak to somebody direct before you sign up for anything and don't let anybody pressurise you into anything and take your time.

Well that's all from me for now,

If you have any advice or solution concerning this subject I would love to hear from you.
